Three years later, Nathan Minnehan started making leather journals and selling them in Buenos Aires at the San Telmo street fair. The journals are now sold internationally and in more than fifteen stores in the U.S.
He also has a scholarship called the Dream Box where he supplies journals to intentional travelers and exchange students. It’s a labor of love, and you can win a free “Tom Sawyer” travel journal in this week’s giveaway.

I would use this exquisite journal to map out the next 10 years of my life.
It looks almost too beautiful to write in, but it looks like the perfect thing to record my hopes and dreams in.
If I win it I could say, “I had a dream, and I now have a beautiful place to capture it in.” Capturing my dreams in a beautiful cage, nurturing and feeding them, till one day they will be strong enough to go out into the world and become reality.

Journals are best used when they die falling apart filled with memories and well used. I think this would be able to hold.them all.

Very nice journal. I would love to document use that to document my weight loss journey. I’m working on losing 180 pounds.
First, holy cow that’s a lovely journal and thick enough you could use it a long time. Second, I can’t say as I’d travel to many other countries, but I’m on a journey of making as many cool things as I can get out there and I figure I can find a few very useful things to put in that journal. What a very nice travel Journal. I travel over 200 days a year on the road both domestic and international. it would be nice to have my travel notes in such a journal.

As an amateur bookbinder (started this month) I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to get my hands on this beauty. I decided to start this hobby because I love handmade journals and buy them the same way others buy shoes or purses. I have a growing shelf of journals that I simply adore and get inspiration from. Each journal has a purpose, in one I write 10 ideas for the day, in another notes from books I’m currently reading and in yet another a gratitude journal. Tonight I came back from camping with my family tonight and saw Chris’ twitter post. While I know due to my health I won’t be doing any globe trotting in the near future, I would definitely dedicate it to my future camping and hiking adventures to come.

“In the beginning was the Word”‘…..how appropriate this would be for someone whose desire is to make the gift of the split second presence we all live, last a little longer—attempt to preserve it—-even, in some stubborn way, make it last forever—to make it certain that it DID exist, and would not be forgotten.
Handcrafted leather journal: in this digital age, something created by a true craftsman, that needs no programming or electricity, has an even great appeal than in times past. It makes me think about what tangible evidence future archeologists will find of our current thoughts and ideas. Hopefully they know what to do with a iPod or smartphone when they dig one up.
Even though I could use any medium to write (phone, computer, piece of paper), doing so in a hand-crafted journal will encourage me to burst with the creativity which such a journal requires. Think about it: anyone with a journal like this isn’t going to scribble the mundane, but rather write with intent. Thanks for sharing about this product!
